Drawing Out Awareness: RoofSit Logo Contest for Kids
For thirteen years, U93 has donated an entire week of air time to help educate the community and raise donations for the prevention of child abuse in the Michiana area. Broadcasting from the roof of Martin’s Supermarket, the week is dedicated to those affected by child abuse and neglect and the service providers who help to educate and battle this dire tragedy in our community. To date, Roof Sit has raised more than 1.6 million dollars for prevention efforts in Elkhart, LaPorte and St Joseph counties in Indiana and Berrien and Cass counties in Michigan. This year we want you to be involved! U93, Martin’s Supermarket and Prevent Child Abuse St Joe County would like to invite all kids in the U93 listening area to help us design the new RoofSit logo.
Project Defined: The contest is open to any child living in Berrien, Cass, Elkhart, LaPorte or St Joseph County. The term U93 RoofSit, at least one handprint and the 1-800-853-KIDS number need to be integrated into the logo. Contestants can submit logo designs in any format – hand drawn to computer generated will be accepted. One finalist from each county will be selected; finalists will be announced on the PCASJC website (pcasjc.org) and featured in the Martin’s Supermarket weekly ad on April 12, 2010. During the week of April 12th, anyone can visit pcasjc.org to vote on their favorite design. The contest winner will be unveiled on April 22, 2010 during the Prevent Child Abuse St Joe County vigil. Participants, friends and family are encouraged to join us at the vigil for the announcement – visit pcasjc.org for more details. The winner will have their logo featured on all RoofSit promotional materials including Roof Sit t-shirts and posters as well as be invited up on the roof during RoofSit 2010 to talk about the design of their logo.
Project Rules:

Submissions should be no smaller than 4” x 5” and no larger than 8.5” x 11” – horizontal artwork only. All entries must be accompanied by a signed entry form.

Design must use the phrase U93 RoofSit, have a minimum of one handprint and include the 1-800-853-KIDS phone number.

Participants: Any child, up to age 18, living in Berrien or Cass counties in Michigan or Elkhart, LaPorte & St Joseph counties in Indiana. Group entries will also be accepted provided all group members reside in the participating counties and are 18 years of age or younger.

Judges: Artwork will be judged by representatives from PCASJC, Martin’s Supermarket and U93.

Submission deadline: The winning design must be received by Prevent Child Abuse St Joe County, P.O. Box 6535, South Bend, IN 46660, by 5:00 p.m on Friday, April 2nd.
