Safe Sleep Campaign

Prevent Child Abuse St. Joseph County is launching a Safe Sleep public service announcement campaign to help families keep infants safe during sleep. Unsafe sleep is one of the leading causes of preventable infant deaths, and many tragedies happen during naps, late-night feedings, and shared sleep in adult beds.

This campaign includes billboard ads, social media ads, and partner messaging through conversations and social media. You can help amplify clear, life-saving information by using our ready-made toolkit.

The ABC's of Safe Sleep

Simple safe sleep practices save lives.

  • Place baby on their back

  • Baby sleeps alone

  • Baby sleeps in a bare crib (no blankets, pillows, toys)

  • Use a firm, flat sleep surface

  • Avoid sleeping with baby on a couch, recliner, or adult bed
